The route

From Lisbon to the Obradoiro Square

The Central Portuguese Way is the oldest and most traditional route from Portugal. Starting in the vibrant capital Lisbon, you will cross the wine region of Alenquer, pass through the historic Santarém, cross the charming Coimbra with its medieval university and arrive in Porto, the wine city of Oporto.

From Porto you will continue through the north of Portugal crossing Barcelos and Ponte de Lima before crossing the Miño river to Tui. A unique experience that unites two countries, two cultures and hundreds of years of pilgrimage history. The most complete route for those looking for the authentic Portuguese experience.
